66ers Rack Up 4-1 Win Versus Round Rock
|
The Inland Empire 66ers beat the Round Rock Express, 4-1. Inland Empire pitcher and Cutler, Florida, native Wilbert Newell led the way. Martin Carroll earned the save for Inland Empire, his 1st. The second-place 66ers sport a record of 46-35.
The 66ers got a big at-bat from shortstop Isaac Kern. For the game, Kern was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 9th double of the season gave Inland Empire a 4-1 lead.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Kern told the Inland Empire Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
