Triplets Take Nail-Biter Over Aces
|
BB&T Stadium was the site of quite a ballgame.
The Reno Aces got a superb performance from pitcher Grit Rosquist, but the Evansville Triplets still won the game, 7-6. Rosquist threw 5.1 innings allowing 4 runs. Grey Flood, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 18th inning, when Evansville catcher Rudy Russell, facing Stuart Boyd, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Triplets the 7-6 win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Russell, "but we got it done."
Evansville now sits at 35-45, while Reno falls to 35-45.
