HarbourCats Zap Rainiers, 6-0
|
The Victoria HarbourCats beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-0, at Cheney Stadium. Starting pitcher Tyler Watkins was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Watkins, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. The HarbourCats improve their record to 40-37 with the win over Tacoma.
The HarbourCats got a big at-bat from center fielder Tyler Lindow. For the game, Lindow was 2-4 with 2 doubles. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 20th double of the season gave Victoria a 1-0 lead.
"Piling up wins will eventually take us to the promised land," said Lindow.
