Sidewinders Get Gritty, 3-2 Win
|
The Inland Empire 66ers got a superb performance from pitcher Hayden Pleasanton, but the Tucson Sidewinders still won the game, 3-2. Pleasanton threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Tucson reliever Nate Leetch picked up the win. Ronald Landreaux took the loss for Inland Empire. SÃmun Rasmussen collected his 3rd save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Roy Linares? The 26-year old first baseman Linares stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Tucson up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Sidewinders manager Jose Cardona.
The Sidewinders now have a record of 43-36.
