Sounds Suffer Humbling Defeat
Starting pitcher Pluto Benedith pitched well enough to help the Evansville Triplets beat the Nashville Sounds, 13-3. The Triplets improved to 41-37.

Gonzalo Canseco had a big 3-run home run for the Triplets in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Evansville leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Logan Riley and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Triplets on top, 8-2.

"I have nothing to complain about," said winning manager Mike McGarry after the game.
