Iowa Stumbles Again, Falls, 4-0, to Nashville
|
The Iowa Cubs got a superb performance from pitcher Zachary Sim. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Nashville. The Sounds won the game, 4-0. Sim threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 runs. Dan Bower, now 4-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The losses continue to pile up for Iowa, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
Vicente Prieto had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Nashville. He came through with a 2-run single to put Nashville in front, 3-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Iowa skipper John Sweet, "and it cost us."
