Cubs Get Clonked by Chihuahuas, 5-2

Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Southwest University park.
El Paso Chihuahuas starter Larry Burley led his team to victory over the Iowa Cubs, 5-2. The left-hander was locked-in. Burley, now 7-7, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Ron Roos earned his 7th save, after closing out the game.
Jake Nicosia had a big 3-run home run for the Chihuahuas in the bottom of the sixth inning. With El Paso leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Roger Bass and swatted a home run to left. It was his 11th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chihuahuas ahead, 5-0.
"Larry did a really nice job of taking the ball and giving us a chance to win the game," said El Paso manager Sawyer Sandbach.
The win boosts the Chihuahuas to 31-43. The loss puts the Cubs at 38-36.
