The El Paso Chihuahuas used a great performance from Brendan Bond, who is tied for 4th in the PCL with a 2.77 ERA, to beat the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 2-1, at Southwest University park. Bond, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Jason Chamberlain recorded his 4th save for El Paso.

The Chihuahuas got a big at-bat from right fielder Hubert Berchtold. For the game, Berchtold went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave El Paso a 2-0 lead.

Berchtold called the win a testament to his team's "grit."

The Chihuahuas win now puts them at 26-47.
