The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Victoria HarbourCats, 6-5, in part because of left fielder George Copa. Copa went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the River Cats. Sacramento, now 38-38, holds down 7th place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.

Copa had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 sinker from Tom Neal, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the River Cats a 4-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Copa.

"I guess momentum is nice," said River Cats manager Jake Braithwaite, "but I don't believe in that stuff too much. You know we have to go play good baseball. We have to do what we do."
