The Omaha Storm Chasers welcomed the New Orleans Baby Cakes to an night game at Zephyr Field.
The Omaha Storm Chasers handed the New Orleans Baby Cakes a 5-3 defeat at Zephyr Field. First Baseman Zander Thompson starred for Omaha. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Yes, it was a win for Omaha; but their 22-51 record is still nothing to boast about.
The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Thompson delivered big-time for Omaha, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Pepillo Mejia. The game-changing hit put the Storm Chasers on top, 4-3.
Thompson called it "a solid win."
