Storm Chasers Losing Streak at 7 After Extra-Inning Loss to Sidewinders
|
The Tucson Sidewinders picked up a win at Werner Park, knocking off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-1, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Kevin Walker played a key role in the triumph. Nate Leetch picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Jameson Cromer suffered the loss. The Sidewinders sit in 5th place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division with a record of 38-32.
Tucson used the timely hitting of Luka Cambre to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sidewinders on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Walker. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
