Honolulu got a terrific game from left fielder Sergio Sabedra. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Tucson, 8-7. Sabedra went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Xaime Rodriguez, now 2-5, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. Ivory Peressini earned save number 5 this season.

Tucson used the timely hitting of Don Grelle to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sidewinders on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Grelle.

With the victory, the Sidewinders record now stands at 38-34.
