ThunderSharks Dump Aces, 5-1
|
Honolulu starter Jim Marek put a stranglehold on the Reno offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the ThunderSharks to a 5-1 win. Marek yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-4. The win lifted the Honolulu record to 43-29.
Honolulu used the hitting of Augustin Pineira to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the ThunderSharks on top, 4-1. For the game, Pineira had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Pineira.
