Despite the rain, the fans at BB&T Stadium enjoyed a good ballgame.

The Evansville Triplets took Honolulu pitcher Angel Mella's best shot and still were able to claim a win at BB&T Stadium. The final score had Evansville getting past the ThunderSharks, 4-2. Mella went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Evansville reliever Gavin Thomson got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Garry Francis was tagged with the loss. Caleb Hodgin locked down his 5th save.

The Triplets got a big at-bat from catcher Hunter Yeo. For the game, Yeo was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Evansville a 4-2 lead.

Said losing manager Jimmy Anderson: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."

The Triplets improved their record to 37-28 with the win over Honolulu.
