Sidewinders Trip Aces, 6-3
|
The Tucson Sidewinders earned a win at Blues Stadium, knocking off the Reno Aces, 6-3. On the bump for Tucson was left-hander Henry Scurlock. He had a starring role in the triumph. The winner was Scurlock. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Netuno Hernandez. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Dilan Lee.
The Sidewinders got a gift in the top of the sixth inning, when they were leading 3-1. With two out and the bases loaded, Guilhermino Calderon reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-1, Tucson.
"That's what good pitchers do," said Tucson manager Gil Mitchell. "They find a way."
The win makes Tucson 32-34.
