Behind the bravura of designated hitter Frederick Jones, the El Paso Chihuahuas topped the Honolulu ThunderSharks by the score of 7-5. Jones was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Chihuahuas. Giles Koster earned the save for El Paso, his 6th. The Chihuahuas are now 35-30.

El Paso used the timely hitting of Derrick Mitchell to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We're in some kind of groove right now," said Mitchell.
