Sidewinders Slap 3-1 Loss on Chihuahuas
|
Larry Burley, despite pitching a good game, was disappointed in the outcome: a tough, 3-1, defeat for the El Paso Chihuahuas at the hands of the Tucson Sidewinders at Southwest University park. Scott Beam earned the win, while 23-year old left-handed pitcher Larry Burley took the loss for El Paso. Tucson is now 33-26, El Paso 26-33.
Tucson used the hitting of Damien Hyder to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sidewinders on top, 2-0. For the game, Hyder had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Tough loss," said El Paso manager Sawyer Sandbach. "But that's how the chips sometimes fall."
