The performance of Eric Short proved critical in helping Reno beat Albuquerque, 5-4. The Aces third baseman was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Reno reliever Mancio Soto was the winner. His record is now 1-5. The losing pitcher was Benicio Peralta. With the win, the Aces have a record of 18-39.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Theo Norzagaray, who is tied for 7th in the PCL in home runs with 11, hit a 2-run double. The Aces went on to win.

"It was a test of wills," said Steve Kapp, the Reno skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
