River Cats Fall to Aces, 7-0
|
The Reno Aces faced a tough opponent in Sacramento pitcher Étienne Laliberté, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Blues Stadium by a final score of 7-0. Laliberté went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Stephen LaPrade got credit for the win, improving to 1-5. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. The Aces now have a record of 17-40 with the win over Sacramento.
Reno took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Keyshawn Trujillo hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Aces.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Reno manager Ross Winfrey.
