The Tacoma Rainiers beat the Sacramento River Cats, 3-0, at Cheney Stadium. Tacoma left fielder Tim Peters led the way. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Houlihan Wells finished the game for Tacoma and earned his 1st save. Tacoma, at 41-16, is cruising.
In the first inning, Peters had a 2-run home run for Tacoma. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Rainiers on top, 2-0.
"I put some good swings on the ball tonight," said Peters.
