Triplets Suffer 5-3 Road Loss
The Nashville Sounds beat the Evansville Triplets, 5-3, at First Tennessee Park. The win was due in part to catcher Matt Squilla, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. J.R. Bourgeois got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Raoul Córdova, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities.

Squilla had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-1 fastball from Roy Jetté, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Sounds a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Squilla.

Squilla attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."

The victory gives the Sounds a record of 30-30.
