Sidewinders Win by Slim Margin, 4-3
|
The Tucson Sidewinders topped the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-3, in Pacific Coast League action at Greater Nevada Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Tucson pitcher Garrett Maxwell. Ivory Peressini picked up the win in relief for Tucson, while Meyers Turner took the loss. Tucson has now won 4 in a row.
Claud Smith was the walk-off hero for Tucson. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sidewinders second baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Mike Briggs, the Tucson manager.
