Oklahoma City starter Edwin Childers put the Edmonton offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his sinker in leading the Wranglers to a 2-1 win. Ellis Fido closed it out for his 2nd save. By defeating Edmonton, the 8th-place Wranglers improved to 23-31.

Oklahoma City used the hitting of Garnet Leverson to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 1-0. For the game, Leverson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Edwin was able to execute his pitches," said Oklahoma City manager Jim Petit. "Simple as that."
