Wranglers Edge Inland Empire in Pitching Duel
|
Oklahoma City Wranglers pitcher Ward Cantu was in fine form, leading his team past the Inland Empire 66ers, 1-0. Oklahoma City is now 28-27, Inland Empire 27-28.
The Wranglers got a big at-bat from right fielder Colton Starks. For the game, Starks went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Oklahoma City a 1-0 lead.
"Ward pitched like a champ," said Oklahoma City manager Jim Petit.
