Aces Snag 5-3 Win
|
El Paso shortstop Dan Aronson had a good game, even if his team did not. The Chihuahuas dropped a 5-3 decision to Reno at Southwest University park. Aronson was 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reno reliever Stuart Boyd picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Julian Koons absorbed the loss. The Aces now have a record of 17-39.
Elroy Cornett provided a timely hit. The Reno shortstop delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aces on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Nice to get this one," said Cornett. "Wins have been hard to come by."
