Brunell Leads Isotopes to 14-5 Win Over Chihuahuas
The home crowd had a good time watching the El Paso Chihuahuas and Albuquerque Isotopes get after it.

The Albuquerque Isotopes beat the El Paso Chihuahuas, 14-5, at Isotopes Park. Juan Brunell belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The 28-year old first baseman was a menace to El Paso all day. Albuquerque reliever DeShane Shaver picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Scott Saarela absorbed the loss.

Jim Paul had a big 2-run double for the Isotopes in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Albuquerque leading 6-5 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Scott Saarela and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 8-5.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Isotopes manager Germaine Botha.

Albuquerque bumps their record to 28-27 with the win.
