Baby Cakes Win 3-0 Walk-Off
|
New Orleans used a superb performance from starting pitcher Johnny Deese to down the Oklahoma City Wranglers, 3-0. Perry Davis, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. New Orleans is in second place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison with a record of 32-19.
Ghordy Paño was the walk-off hero for New Orleans. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Baby Cakes shortstop hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Paño told reporters after the game.
