The Nashville Sounds and Round Rock Express provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Round Rock Express had to overcome a fine effort from Nashville pitcher Vito Medina to win, 3-2, at Dell Diamond. Medina went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Matt Herlin picked up the win in relief. Deacon DiFrancesco took the loss for Nashville. R.J. Rouse nailed down his 15th save.

Had Elias Goodwin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Goodwin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Express.

Round Rock manager Chris York commended his team for "banging out a nice win."

The third-place Express sport a record of 24-22.
