Snow Torches River Cats for 5 Hits
|
After a 5-hit effort to lead Round Rock's 9-4 victory over the Sacramento River Cats, third baseman Carson Snow told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Triple A-level is really something special."
The 23-year-old player earned his accolades at River Cats Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the River Cats.
"His swing is getting there," said Express skipper Chris York, who spoke glowingly of Snow after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Carson did that to perfection."
Carson Snow singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Étienne Laliberté in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Alex Russell in the 9th.
This season, Snow has delivered 48 hits in 105 at-bats for a .457 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .500 clip and his totals also include 42 RBIs and 26 runs scored. This year Snow has played in 31 games.
