West Delivers Walk-Off Win for Rainiers
|
The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Tacoma Rainiers faced a tough opponent in Albuquerque pitcher Dave Dau, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cheney Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Dau went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Tacoma reliever A.J. Vargas got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Alexander Seabron was tagged with the loss.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Tacoma. That's when 25-year old right fielder Foster West hit a 3-run home run off Alexander Seabron to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"This place was electric at the end," West said.
The triumph puts Tacoma at 25-18 for the season.
