Second Baseman Romeiras has 4 hits in Winnipeg Win
|
Cameron Romeiras, who is tied for 4th in the PCL in RBI with 31, had a 3-RBI night to help the Winnipeg Goldeyes down the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 6-4. Kyle Lipschultz nailed down his 2nd save. The second-place Goldeyes lifted their record to 25-19.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Celestino Ruiz? The 23-year old left fielder Ruiz stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Winnipeg up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Don't let his youth fool you," said Goldeyes manager Brian Hotard. "Cameron knows what he's doing out there."
