Edge Hang 7-3 Loss on Storm Chasers
|
The Edmonton Edge picked up a win at Field of the Edge, knocking off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 7-3. Starting pitcher Karson Henage was a big reason why. Henage, now 7-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Edmonton now sits in first place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison at 24-14.
The Edge got an important contribution from center fielder Reggie Wright, who in the bottom of the first punched a 2-2 screwball into right-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Edge ahead, 3-0.
"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Wright. "It eases the tension."
