Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Nashville Sounds and Honolulu ThunderSharks.
The Nashville Sounds picked up a win at First Tennessee Park, topping the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 6-4. On the mound for Nashville was right-hander Samuel Heck. He played a principal role in the triumph. Heck got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 4 runs. Gregg Vanderpool earned the save, his 5th, for the Sounds.
Damien Chase, who is tied for 10th in the PCL in bases on balls with 17, chipped in a 2-run home run for Nashville in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Samuel is one tough son of a gun," said Nashville manager Jose Maldonado.
The Sounds now own a record of 19-18.
