Riding the 3-hit performance of the 28-year old first baseman Wyatt Olivant, the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Inland Empire 66ers, 8-2. By defeating Inland Empire, the first-place Rainiers improved to 29-11.

Tacoma used the timely hitting of Braden Sampson to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rainiers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Tacoma manager Chris McCollum was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
