In 10, El Paso Beats Tucson, 5-3
|
The Tucson Sidewinders got a whale of a performance from pitcher Shea Harris, but the El Paso Chihuahuas still prevailed, 5-3, in 10 innings. Harris threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs. El Paso reliever Damen Page picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Logovi'i Moors absorbed the loss. Giles Koster, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
El Paso used the timely hitting of Derrick Mitchell to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It all comes down to execution," said El Paso manager Sawyer Sandbach. "Baseball 101."
El Paso has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
