Despite a great performance by Albuquerque left fielder Bob Bive, the Sacramento River Cats defeated the Isotopes by the score of 6-5 at Isotopes Park. Bive went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Sacramento pitcher Cullen Sparks got the win. He's now 1-0. Snowball Robilotta was tagged with the loss. The 6th-place River Cats are 18-21.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Mark Hefner came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Albuquerque pitcher Snowball Robilotta, he hit a 1-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Sacramento on top, 6-5.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Hefner, "but we could've played better."
