Scott Beam, who is tied for 3rd in the PCL in strikeouts with 40, was locked in. The right-hander led the Tucson Sidewinders to a 4-2 win against the Sacramento River Cats at Greater Nevada Field. Beam picked up the win for Tucson, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Nate Leetch nailed down his 11th save.
Florian Díaz hit a 2-run triple off Étienne Laliberté in the bottom of the first, which put the Sidewinders in front, 2-0. Díaz had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
