Nashville turned a good performance from starting pitcher Earl Barrett into a 3-2 triumph over the Victoria HarbourCats at First Tennessee Park. Barrett picked up the win for Nashville, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Tristan Swiderski earned the save, his 11th, for the Sounds.

Nashville left fielder Travis Reed contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 31st hit of the season and put the Sounds ahead, 3-0.

"It never gets old," said Reed. "Winning, that is."

The first-place Sounds improved to 21-12.
