Sidewinders Win, 6-2, Over El Paso
|
Tucson Sidewinders starter Collin Sheppeard hurled his team past the El Paso Chihuahuas, 6-2. Sheppeard, now 6-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Sidewinders improved their record to 19-12 by beating El Paso.
The Sidewinders had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the seventh. The score was 5-2, Tucson, with no one out. El Paso, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Fadil Ring dug in at the plate, but on a 0-2 slider, he grounded out.
