The Evansville Triplets downed the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 6-0, at BB&T Stadium. Evansville pitcher Merv Ledlow definitely brought his A-game. The Triplets now have a record of 17-13 with the win over New Orleans.

Evansville second baseman Woody Steveson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 38th hit of the season and put the Triplets ahead, 2-0.

Said losing manager Bobby Gomez: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
