Reno Beats Omaha, 6-4
|
Reno and Omaha duked it out and the Aces came out victorious.
The Reno Aces stopped the Omaha Storm Chasers, 6-4, at Werner Park. The Aces got a big game from Cionel Abreu, who went 1-1 with 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Netuno Hernandez, who leads the PCL in wins with 4, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Julio Andrade closed it out for Reno, earning his 8th save.
Reno used the timely hitting of Jair Leija to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aces on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Reno manager Ross Winfrey said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The first-place Aces have a one-game lead in their division.
