Sacramento starter Emmett Lucas pitched well against the Nashville Sounds at River Cats Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. The win was credited to 25-year old left-handed pitcher Wayne Jones in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Deacon DiFrancesco took the loss. Farouk Morales closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Ayden Covington hit a run-scoring triple off Deacon DiFrancesco in the bottom of the eighth, which put the River Cats in front, 5-4. Covington had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Lucas.
Nashville now is 14-13.
