Chihuahuas Post 6-4 Win Over Oklahoma City
|
The El Paso Chihuahuas picked up a win at Wranglers Ballpark, knocking off the Oklahoma City Wranglers, 6-4. On the mound for El Paso was right-hander Lee Fuentez. He played a key role in the triumph. Fuentez, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 4 runs. Elton Crouse wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Lawrence McIver? The El Paso shortstop had a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 5-4. For the game, McIver had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Fuentez.
With the win, El Paso pushed its record to 17-11.
