Express Earn 3-2 Win Versus ThunderSharks
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Round Rock Express and Honolulu ThunderSharks.
The Round Rock Express had to overcome a fine effort from Honolulu pitcher Blair Dayton to win, 3-2, at Smith's Ballpark. Dayton went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The ThunderSharks, 10-11, continue their so-so start to the 2059 season.
Round Rock used the timely hitting of Patricio Valencia to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Express on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Valencia said.
