Evansville Drops Another One, 5-0
|
Evansville got a decent performance from pitcher Aidan Rodkey, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Baby Cakes. New Orleans won the Zephyr Field contest, 5-0. Rodkey threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Caleb Wills closed the door for New Orleans, picking up his 1st save of the year. The Triplets fall to 8-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The Baby Cakes got a big at-bat from second baseman Ryan Ou. For the game, Ou went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave New Orleans a 2-0 lead.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Ou said. "That's how it goes."
