|
The El Paso Chihuahuas spoiled a good performance by Sacramento designated hitter Rhett Larsen, bumping off Sacramento, 8-6, at Southwest University park. Larsen went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The save was credited to Lonny Park, his 4th. The win has El Paso at 7-12.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Jake Nicosia came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Sacramento pitcher Brendan Kaiser, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting El Paso on top, 8-6.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said El Paso manager Sawyer Sandbach.
