66ers Grind Out 1-0 Win
|
Pitcher Alfonso Clay was sensational for the Inland Empire 66ers in his team's 1-0 triumph over the Iowa Cubs. Clay earned the win. Ronald Landreaux picked up his 1st save of the season. The win moves Inland Empire to a record of 10-7.
The 66ers got a big at-bat from first baseman Clay Brousseau. For the game, Brousseau was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Inland Empire a 1-0 lead.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Clay.
