Brinkley Shines in 9-2 Houston Win
The Houston Astros dumped the Detroit Tigers, 9-2, in large part due to shortstop Tony Brinkley. On the day, Brinkley was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Astros. The loss makes Detroit 19-29.

In the top of the sixth, the Astros grabbed the lead when Brinkley hit his 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double off Chase Powell made it 3-2, Houston.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Detroit manager Andrew Burdick.
