Pirates Use Late Rally to Win 4th Straight
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates eked out a 3-2 win versus the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Adriel Owen. He was terrific. Vincent Prudhomme earned save number 7 this season. The Pirates move to 23-25 with the win, while the Tigers drop to 23-25.
Andy Kiser, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kiser contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-2.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Pittsburgh manager Eddie Dolly.
