Baby Cakes Make It 6 in a Row with 12-7 Win
New Orleans took on Omaha in front of a lively crowd.

E.J. Ojeda had a good game, but he could not keep the Omaha Storm Chasers from falling, 12-7, to the New Orleans Baby Cakes at Werner Park. The Omaha right fielder was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 in the loss. Marc Evans notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.

Cliff Williams supported the New Orleans cause with one out in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and New Orleans leading 7-6, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said New Orleans manager Bobby Gomez.

The triumph makes New Orleans 14-6, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2062.
