Sacramento beat Nashville at River Cats Ballpark, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Marc Gagnon. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs. In 6 innings, Gagnon surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 4 runs. Bernie Kiser recorded the save for Sacramento, his 1st of the season.
Sacramento center fielder Germano Centeno contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the River Cats ahead, 6-4.
Said Sacramento manager Brandon Holmes: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The River Cats with just their 3rd win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
