In a low-scoring contest between the Albuquerque Isotopes and the Iowa Cubs, 24-year old left-handed pitcher Rick Grier proved to be the difference. The Albuquerque left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Isotopes win. Herbert Foret recorded the save for Albuquerque, his 2nd of the season. The loss makes Iowa 8-8.

The Isotopes prevailed in a game in which the pitchers had the upper hand.

"Rick is one tough son of a gun," said Albuquerque manager Ryan Thrasher.
